One to while away the hour 

IN CASE last weekend's Earth Hour passed you by, the Boston Globehas an excellent slide show which shows the impact as the lights are turned out on various landmarks around the world.

Simply click on the Las Vegas strip, the Bird’s Nest stadium in Beijing, the Sydney skyline, the hill of the Acropolis or any one of the 22 other global landmarks and watch the effect as the lights dimmed.

GOOGLE HAS a tradition of April Fools Day jokes stretching back to 2000 when it announced the MentalPlex search technology which would scan your brainwave activity, browser history, current weather conditions and mouse movement speed. Did you spot yesterday’s wheeze?

Reports of blogging demise exaggerated

PROVING THAT at least some Irish bloggers have a sense of humour comes this spoof news report on the death of Irish blogging, with a cameo from Prime Time's Miriam O'Callaghan.

Boards.ie community manager Darragh Doyle hits the streets of Dublin in this item which opened the Irish Blog Awards in Galway and is now available on YouTube.
