Warrenpoint protest

Campaigners opposed to plans for a £6.5 million sterling development at the Co Down port of Warrenpoint have called for a public enquiry into the proposed scheme. Around 500 letters of objection were handed in at Craigavon, where the harbour authority's planning application is open to public scrutiny. However, But the harbour authority has said that the redevelopment plans are an "economic necessity" for the port, and that there is no viable alternative.
