UBS Warburg has been ranked the best pan-European brokerage firm in the annual Thomson Extel Survey. The results were announced in the Guildhall in London yesterday by Thomson Financial.

Almost 600 fund management institutions in 30 countries took part in the survey.

Fidelity Investment Services was voted the best pan-European fund management firm.

The Extel Survey collects views and nominations from the investment community, surveying fund managers, analysts and finance directors at quoted companies. All votes are weighted. The survey is largely conducted online. The best quoted company for investor relations was BP Amoco and CRH was ranked 15th.
