Sky Go for Android

Sky subscribers with Android phones need no longer be envious of iPhone users. The Sky Go app has arrived on Android so you can get more value for your subscription by watching TV shows, sports and movies on compatible phones at no extra cost.

Content streams over 3G as well as wifi, and Sky 1 and Sky Living have just been added to existing channels. A word of warning: this does not work with all Android devices, only a handful of Samsung and HTC models.

Pope Benedict for Lent

Perhaps you’re giving up social media for Lent but for 40 days and 40 nights the Pope intends to tweet the papal message. Using the hashtag #Lent, the Vatican is tweeting little snippets of prayer and biblical quotations in English, Spanish, Italian, French and German in the hopes of plenty of retweets.

In the interest of spiritual balance in a social media savvy age, you can also find the inspirational quotes from the Dalai Lama (@DalaiLama) on the Twitter machine.

Cowbird for personal stories

The internet connects us through hyperlinks but what connects us as people are stories, emotions and personal bonds. Cowbird is a collection of audio-visual diaries that can be browsed by timeline, theme, tags, author and more. One aim of Cowbird is to organise these stories into sagas. The Occupy Wallstreet saga, as a collection of stories from those who camped out or observed, is worth exploring. If you want to become a storyteller yourself you have to request an invite.
