Nikon J1, €620

As far as compact cameras go, the Nikon J1 is incredibly versatile. Not only can you shoot still images and full HD movies, you can do both at the same time. If you’re recording a video and want to take a photo, you can do so at the touch of a button without interrupting your video for a second. The camera also uses Motion Snapshot to take a snippet of video – full HD, naturally – and save it to the camera’s buffer memory.

It starts recording the moment you half-press the shutter button, so it captures that little bit of footage you might have missed with the still shot. The J1 is mirrorless, has a built-in flash and a 10mp sensor. And the lenses can be swapped.

SensoGlove, $89

What do you get the golfer who has everything for Christmas? The improved SensoGlove. The latest version of the golf aid has been fine-tuned to give you better battery life and increased sensitivity to read pressure more accurately, so you can perfect your golf swing. The glove has a built-in LED monitor – sweat-proof of course – that reads the pressure of your golf swing through sensors throughout the glove. It will even give you audio feedback to let you know when you’re straying into “death grip” territory, and will tell you exactly which fingers are the culprits.

Left and right gloves are available for both men and women, and you can take the sensors out and use the glove as a regular golf accessory.

The Pebble Smartstick portable charger solves all your problems. The emergency backup has enough power to charge your mobile phone fully, and isn’t as unwieldy as other portable power products, so you can easily carry it with you. It comes with five different charging tips, allowing it to work with the iPhone, Blackberry, HTC, Samsung, Sony Ericsson and almost any device that charges from micro or mini USB.
