Supreme Court to hear Eircell appeal

The Supreme Court will today hear an appeal against the High Court's decision to lift orders restraining Eircell from terminating an airtime supply contract with Meridian Ltd, a telecommunications service provider under the Imagine brand. On Wednesday, Mr Justice Lavan refused to continue interim orders granted to Meridian earlier this month, which restrained Eircell from terminating its airtime supply contract with Meridian and from presenting a petition to wind up Meridian without the court's permission.

A stay on the High Court's lifting of the orders against Eircell will continue pending the Supreme Court hearing.
