Want a present for the soap addict in your life? Fans can now get gossip from their favourite show via their mobile phone. New technology is being used which will bring a whole new meaning to the term "soap addict".
The official Coronation Street phone allows users access to weekly gossip updates from the TV show via their mobile phone, for free.
Being marketed in Britain, the phone itself costs £9.99, and it must be connected to a special Coronation Street Cellnet tariff, which costs £17.50 per month rental plus call charges, with a £35 connection fee. It's surely only a question of time before Eircell or Esat Digifone get in on the act. The Glenroe phone, perhaps?
