BRITAIN'S biggest furniture maker and retailer MFI yesterday confirmed consumers are spending heavily again on major items as sales jumped almost 16 per cent in the first six months. Total turnover climbed to £440.5 million, an increase of 15.7 per cent with sales in Britain increased by 14 per cent when comparing similar selling space to the corresponding period last year.
