Scottish Legal Life savings account

The value-for-money rankings on investment Special Savings Incentive Accounts (May 18th) miscalculated the figure for the reduction in investment yield over five years due to the impact of charges on the Scottish Legal Life product. The percentage reduction in investment return should have read 2.8 per cent, not 4 per cent.

As a result, the Scottish Legal Life product carries a two-star value-for-money rating after five years based on charges over the period and would rank 20th in the overall value-for-money table, not 27th.

Due to pressure of space. Q&A has been held over for this week. The column will appear again next Friday.
