Ms Suzanne O'Rourke has joined Mark Mitchell Sales and Marketing. Ms O'Rourke is a recruitment specialist in the financial services and pharmaceutical/healthcare sectors.

Integrated communications group Powerstation has hired Ms Triona McHale as managing director. Prior to this, Ms McHale, a business graduate from Trinity College, was strategic planning director of interactive advertising agency ICAN.

Mr Michael Dowling has been re-elected to the position of president of the Independent Mortgage Advisers Federation for the 2001-2002 session.

Duffy Mitchell Architects has strengthened its management with the promotion of two staff members to associate level. The new associates are Mr Dave Egan, a Bolton Street graduate who has worked with Sam Stephenson and Keane Murphy Duff, and Mr Tom Russell, who holds a UCD degree in architecture and an arts degree from All Hallows College. Mr Russell has worked with the Irish Franciscan Community, UCD, the OPW and Richard Hurley & Associates.

Munster-based Classic Windows has announced the appointment of Mr John McHenry as project development manager.

Interxion has recruited Mr Alan Monahan as operations manager for its Dublin facility. Mr Monahan will be responsible for the establishment, building and overall operations of Interxion's Dublin Internet Exchange Center (IEC).

Previously responsible for press relations and marketing communications at financial software specialist Kindle Banking Systems, Mr Van Cauwelaert has more than 11 years' experience in the technology industry.

Former regional manager of Interoute Ireland Mr Patrick Cahillane has been appointed national sales director of Smart Telecom.

Dublin-based aviation solutions provider Aircraft Management Technologies (AMT) has appointed Mr Jonathon Brennan as chief technology officer. Prior to joining AMT, Mr Brennan was founder and managing director of Relmar Ltd, a technology consulting firm in the aviation industry.

Intel general manager and vice-president of its technology and manufacturing group, Mr John McGowan , has been appointed to the board of the National Standards Authority of Ireland. Mr McGowan has held several management positions with Intel Ireland since 1993.

Mr Lorcan Burke has joined venture capital company EFT Group as vice-president for the UK, Ireland and Nordic region. Mr Burke, who joins from Firstmark Communications, will provide ETF with technological expertise to aid investment decisions in this region.

Jurys Doyle Hotel Group has made a number of appointments. Mr Bobby Fitzpatrick has been appointed general manager of Jurys Inn Christchurch, Dublin, transferring from the position of general manager Jurys Glasgow Hotel. Former general manager of Jurys Inn Christchurch Mr Edward Stephenson has been appointed general manager of Jurys Inn Custom House.

UTV plc recently appointed Mr Jim Downey to its board of directors. As the company's finance director, Mr Downey's key responsibility will be the further development of UTV as an all-Ireland multi-media company.

Roaring Water Bay Spirits Company, creators of Boru Vodka, Boru Rocks and Clontarf Irish Whiskey, has appointed Mr Frank O'Conner as its new commercial director. Mr O'Conner formerly held the position of sales and trade marketing director with Gilbeys.
