ATTAC-Ireland, the citizens group campaigning for greater accountability over the global financial system, has advocated rejection of the Treaty of Nice in the forthcoming referendum. The group said ratification of the treaty would remove Ireland's power of veto in international trade negotiations and lead to a diminution of democratic control.
