Anglo Irish Bank's finance director, Mr Willie McAteer, has made a paper gain of over £711,000 and a realised gain of over £155,000 after buying Anglo Irish shares at option prices and then selling some of them into the market. Mr McAteer bought 137,486 shares at an option price of 31.87p and another 343,590 at an option price of 35.79p - a total outlay of £166,771. He then sold 150,000 shares into the market at a price of €2.73 (£2.15) to realise £322,500. The gain on this part of the transaction was £155,729. The 331,000 shares he retained are worth £711,650 at current prices.
