Dunloe executive stands down

Dunloe Ewart has announced that Mr Stewart Harrington is to "stand down" as executive deputy chairman. He will become a non-executive director. Dunloe said Mr Harrington is to pursue private interests but "his services will be available to the company on an ongoing basis". Mr Harrington, a property expert, was brought into Dunloe by Mr Ben Dunne, former head of Dunnes Stores, as managing director in 1995. He remained on the board after Mr Dunne sold his stake in Dunloe to Dublin solicitor, Mr Noel Smyth. Mr Harrington holds 3.36 million Dunloe shares, representing 1 per cent of the company, valued at €1.28 million (£1 million).
