Irish businesses can use competition law to their own competitive advantage, Mr Vincent Power, partner and director of A&L Goodbody solicitors' competition law unit, said yesterday at the publication of his book Competition Law and Practice.

"Too often, businesses see competition law as being a straitjacket, which constrains their business behaviour," he said.
