The Central Bank yesterday warned the public about two companies operating as unauthorised investment firms in Ireland

The Central Bank yesterday warned the public about two companies operating as unauthorised investment firms in Ireland. Taylor Atlantic Ltd (Malaysia) and Barrington Consultants Inc (The Philippines) have been telephoning people recommending share purchases. It is a criminal offence for an investment firm to operate in Ireland unless it has authorisation from the Central Bank and clients of unauthorised firms are not eligible for compensation from the Investor Compensation Scheme.
