A CITY watchdog has fined merchant bank Henry Ansbacher £20,000 sterling for "supervisory and procedural failings" relating to the activities of a former senior trader, it was announced yesterday. In addition, the trader concerned has been expelled from the Securities and Futures Authority register for the "improper transfer" of $70,000 (£42,900) to an associate. The SFA said Mr David Crook joined the bank in 1994 as a senior dealer.
