Absenteeism due to 'life issues'

Only 60 per cent of absenteeism in Ireland is due to ill-health; the rest is due to "life management issues", a conference has been told.

At the annual conference of employee benefits consultants Mercer, Mercer consultant Mr Aonghus Loughlin said employers could reduce absenteeism by proactively managing employees, child care, health and time management issues.
