No 33: Maurice Daly

Club career:

Signed as a professional for Wolves in July 1973 having joined the club from Home Farm. Spent five years at Molineux before moving to Sweden, at the invitation of former Wolves boss Sammy Chung, where he joined IFK Vaesteraas. Seven seasons later, aged 30, he was appointed part-time coach of third division Skultana.

Won just two caps in April 1978, making his debut in a 4-2 win over Turkey at Lansdowne Road (when Dave Langan, Noel Synott, Ashley Grimes, Gerry Ryan, Paul McGee and substitute Synan Braddish also made their senior debuts) and playing a week later in a 3-0 defeat by Poland in Lodz.

Where is he now?

Settled in Sweden and combined studies and business with part-time football, securing his coaching badge and attending Stockholm University, leaving with a degree in Computer Studies. Now 43 and married to a Swedish woman Daly is a systems analyst with a major computer company.
