Llanelli and Pau were last night left high and dry by tournament directors who were asked to consider disciplinary sanctions against them. Both clubs had confidently expected a decision from European Rugby Cup Limited's Dublin headquarters yesterday - but an announcement has been postponed until this morning.

Substantial five-figure fines are likely following the violence that marred their pool E clash in France a fortnight ago.

Llanelli, who beat Pau 14-10 in yesterday's tame Stradey Park rematch, were represented at yesterday's meeting by chief executive Stuart Gallacher who has already produced a video highlighting five separate incidents allegedly showing Pau scrum-half Frederic Torossian attacking Llanelli players.

Llanelli coach Gareth Jenkins has called ERC to take strong action against Torossian.Llanelli supremo Gareth Jenkins also claimed that his side's style was cramped by Irish official Brian Stirling during yesterday's game.
