Solid scrummaging and direct three-quarter play saw Skerries safely through to the quarter-finals at Mount Temple yesterday. Glasthule battled, but Skerries were well on top with their two wings threatening throughout. They went in front after 12 minutes when number eight Dave Lee and outhalf Tom Hanratty combined to put Conor Shiels in on the left.

Hanratty went off with a suspected broken collar bone, but Skerries went on to win with two second-half tries from Robert Shorthall and Paul Sherlock.
