Bohemians 0 Sligo Rovers 0:The last thing Bohemians needed at the this stage of the season with Shamrock Rover breathing down their neck in the league was an FAI Cup quarter-final replay, but that's what they'll face at the Showgrounds on Tuesday after being held to a scoreless draw by Sligo Rovers tonight.

After a terribly sub-standard first half, however, and a recent league defeat to the same opposition, Pat Fenlon and co may well be happy enough with the fact they have another game to prepare for.

Rovers arguably had the better of the opening period, with Gavin Peers pulling the strings and heading Romauld Boco’s ball from the right off the crossbar.

Having started with Joseph Ndo in support of glen Crowe, Bohs found very little fluidity and the Sligo defence stood firm when danger did rear its head.

There was obviously a good deal of talking from Fenlon at the break and quick-fire strikes by Ndo and a cheeky lob from Kilian Brennan signalled intent.

Jason Byrne replaced Anto Murphy to allow Ndo drop back into midfield and there was an immediate impact with the homeside looking far more cohesive.

Sligo backs were against the wall and Brennan was sent racing clear but was denied by Brush.

The goalkeeper could do nothing minutes later when Mark Rossiter’s curling long range effort came crashing back off the underside of the bar while Brennan drove hopelessly over soon afterwards.

The Gypsies kept their foot on the peddle but were met by resolute defence and must now prepare to return to Sligo.
