Waterford United manager Mike Kerley has continued his pre-season spending spree by adding another midfielder and two strikers to his squad.

Polish midfielder Andrezej Polewczak (26) joins from German side FC Taubertal while Wexford pair Lloyd Colfer and Gavin Doyle bolster the attack.

Colfer (21) has caught the eye during recent trials while 18-year-old Doyle signs from Arklow Town where he has a proven record in front of goal.

"These are three good additions to our squad which is coming together nicely," said Kerley who has now signed seven new players since his appointment prior to Christmas.

"I have been impressed by the lads since they’ve come to the club and I have no doubt that they can continue to show the same level of commitment and effort as the season progresses."

The trio join goalkeeper Jimmy Fyffe, defenders Darren Young and Chris Deans, midfielders Paul Ometoso and Brendan Hughes as well as striker Ian Fraher as new arrivals at the RSC

Kerley has also persuaded some promising youngsters, including Irish under-21 Stephen Grant, Kenny Browne and John Hayes, to sign new deals.

"We are continuing to build the squad and we have a number of other players joining the club on trial this weekend as we have a training weekend in Limerick," Kerley continued.

"I am very happy with the way the squad is shaping up and I am confident that the club will have a strong panel of players when the season kicks off."

Shane Barrett, meanwhile, has completed his move from Longford Town to Drogheda United after completing a medical at United Park.
