Jensen seals Fulham victory

Charlton Athletic remained rooted to the bottom of the Premier League as Claus Jensen made a scoring comeback after a year's absence to help Fulham to a 2-1 home win over his former club.

Fulham suddenly cut loose in an explosive three-minute spell midway through the second half. In the 65th minute Brian McBride scored with the aid of a slight deflection. Jensen made it 2-0 nine minutes after coming on as a substitute on 67 minutes. Darren Bent pulled one back in the 77th minute when he reacted sharply to a loose ball to score from inside the box.

Givens makes late call-ups

Irish under-21 manager Don Givens has been forced to call-up Portsmouth's Marc Wilson and Stephen O'Halloran for tomorrow night's friendly against Luxembourg after Michael O'Connor, Darron Gibson and Darren O'Dea were all withdrawn by their clubs over the weekend, reports Emmet Malone.

Robson's role to be discussed

FAI chief executive John Delaney and national team manager Steve Staunton will meet Bobby Robson today in an attempt to resolve his future as international consultant. It was expected last week Robson would step down from the role but the 73-year-old indicated over the weekend he wished to continue in the job. The three were at the Fulham-Charlton game last night.

Derry may have to make changes

Stephen Kenny may be forced into changes for this evening's visit by Sligo Rovers to the Brandywell with Killian Brennan, Kevin McHugh, Seán Hargan and Kevin Deery all facing late fitness tests, reports Emmet Malone.

With City looking to close the gap on Shelbourne at the top of the table to four points, Brennan looks certain to join Paddy McCourt (hamstring) on the sidelines after being forced off against Longford at the weekend with a stomach muscle strain while Hargan (who also was replaced on Saturday), McHugh and Deery are doubts. Sligo have Michael McNamara back but Matthew Judge joins Brian Cash and Seán Flannery on the injury list.
