Ulster Council is set to launch a probe into the ugly scenes which followed yesterday's Ulster intermediate football club semi-final between Ballymackney of Armagh and Tyrone champions Stewartstown at Casement Park.
Supporters became involved in and around the tunnel area after players had traded blows following the final whistle. The Tyrone side battled their way back from five points down to draw the game 0-11 each.
Ulster Council secretary Danny Murphy said a special meeting is likely to be called this week to investigate the violent incidents which erupted just minutes after the final whistle.
"We'll have to await the referee's report, but the scenes were a disgrace," said Murphy " The Ulster Council will take a very dim view of it, and I believe that we probably will call a special meeting. And there could be some very serious decisions made."
• Kilkenny side Danesfort are through to the Leinster junior hurling final after a 6-10 to 0-3 semi-final victory over Bray Emmets in Bray yesterday.
Corner forward Bobbie Walsh scored three goals as his side overran the Wicklow side in the second half despite playing against a very strong wind.
Danesfort also started the game well as Walsh struck for his first goal just three minutes after the throw in.
Full forward David Forristal added another goal four minutes later. Bray, however, managed to settle into their own game after that and held Danesfort to a respectable 2-4 to 0-2 half-time deficit against the wind.
Walsh kept cutting through the Bray defence in the second half as Danesfort romped to victory, scoring 4-6, which was almost twice their first-half total when they played with the elements at their backs.
