St Peter's, Wexford 2-14 St Mel's, Longford 3-7:This was billed as the game of the second round and it did not disappoint. It was all about the two number 13s and eventually the honours rested with St Peter's Irish underage international Kevin O'Connor, with a personal tally of 1-9.

His team playing with the breeze in the opening half, O’Connor set the tone by scoring their opening three points. It was Larry Moran’s cue to get involved, as the St Peter’s number 12 opened St Mel’s account on his way to registering an impressive tally of 1-5.

It was exciting fare that went to extra-time before midfielder Conor Deverux smashed home the game’s fifth goal to ensure two Wexford sides go into Friday’s quarter-final draw.
