Two converted first half tries saw Leinster capture the Schools' interprovincial title at Donnybrook on Saturday to keep their 100 per cent record intact. Ulster were unable to match their opponents for pace in the back division while up-front, Leinster proved equally dangerous with both scores coming from the pack.

Ulster had hinted that things might be closer earlier on when front-row, Lesley George, came close to going over but otherwise there was a considerable gulf between the two sides.

After outhalf David McAllister had failed with two penalty attempts, Leinster finally went ahead on 24 minutes when Jamie Heaslip wheeled his way over after collecting from wing-forward Stuart Abbott.

Leinster stretched their lead in injury time when a clean take from a line-out five yards short of the Ulster line, saw David Gannon gather for Ciaran Potts to finish off with try in the corner. McAllister added his second conversion to leave it 14-0 at half-time and the only score of the second half came from Ulster outhalf, Gareth Steenson, who kicked a penalty.
