Division Two Round-up: Two Barry Kennedy goals in the opening three minutes proved crucial as Westmeath maintained their Division Two A unbeaten record at Lavey yesterday, eventually overcoming Derry, 2-13 to 2-10.

The corner-forward fired home a ground ball after 90 seconds and one minute later fielded a high ball and finished well to the net to give his side an early cushion.

Hosts Derry battled back from those early blows, but in the end their early defensive lapses gave them too much of a mountain to climb.

Meanwhile, goals from Brendan Hanley and Shane Sweeney secured Roscommon's second win of the their league campaign when they defeated Kildare 2-9 to 0-9 in blustery Athleague yesterday.
