Castlewarden's Lauren Walsh has been named in the Britain and Ireland Curtis Cup team for the biennial match against the USA at Merion Golf Club in Pennsylvania in June. Kirkistown Castle teenager Beth Coulter is second reserve.

Walsh, who is in college in America at Wake Forest, played in the Augusta National Women's amateur tournament earlier this month where she ended up just a single shot outside a play-off to be involved in the final round. Walsh played in the delayed 2020 match – it took place last year at Royal Porthcawl – and earned 1.5 points for her team.

The GB&I team: Hannah Darling (18, Scotland), Louise Duncan (22, Scotland), Annabell Fuller (19, England), Charlotte Heath (20, England), Caley McGinty (21, England), Emily Price (22, England), Lauren Walsh (21, Castlewarden, Ireland), Amelia Williamson (21, England). Reserves: 1. Lottie Woad (18, England), 2. Beth Coulter (18, Kirkistown Castle, Ireland)
