RACING: Barry Geraghty can do little wrong these days and fresh from his six domestic winners over the weekend he continued his rich vein of form at Thurles yesterday when he partnered Contempo Suite to victory in the 2m 2f Devil's Bit Novice Hurdle.

"His Gowran run last week (seventh to Stashedaway) brought him on and I feel he needs 2m 4f plus," said trainer Sean Treacy, who will look for a winners-of-one over Christmas for the gelded son of Lord Americo, who comfortably held Regal Act with warm favourite Meggsie Here back in third.

Favourite backers had better luck in the opening Templemore Maiden Hurdle when the Gerry Stack-trained winning pointer Light On The Broom won with the minimum of fuss in the hands of Shay Barry.

The four-year-old bumper for horses that have not run before provided plenty of activity in the betting ring and punters, who supported Noel Meade's newcomer Euro Dilemma from 6 to 4 to 11 to 10 got their just reward when Niall Madden got her home to defeat Loughanelteen.
