Division 1A

Blackrock College v Shannon

Stradbrook

Blackrock seemed to be on a slow march into the relegation scrap but a hugely encouraging 34-15 away victory against St Mary’s leaves them poised to make mid-table their residence once again. That could change in an instant if seventh-placed Shannon close the four-point gap separating the teams. Verdict: Home win.

Garryowen v Old Belvedere

Dooradoyle

Victory here would secure Belvo’s progress into the play-offs but Garryowen’s need may be greater as they are bottom of the table, three points adrift of old rivals Shannon. Verdict: Home win.

St Mary’s College v Cork Constitution

Templeville Road

Interesting repeat of last season’s final as St Mary’s must atone for their capitulation against Blackrock to secure a home semi-final, which Con currently have in their possession. Young Munster are two points behind the Dublin club so another defeat could ruin the campaign. Verdict: Home win.

Dolphin v Young Munster

Musgrave Park

Dolphin can still be relegated as Garryowen are five points adrift with two games to play. That alone should motivate them to spoil the Cookies late run for the play-offs. Verdict: Home win.

Division 1B

Bruff v Lansdowne

Kilballyowen Park

If Lansdowne are to deliver on their player investment and achieve promotion to 1A for next season a victory seems essential here. Bruff’s current form indicates this is well within their grasp.

Verdict: Away win.

Buccaneers v Dungannon

Dubarry Park

Buccs’ end of season stuttering has seen them slip out of contention for the play-offs and defeat here could see them miss out on Division 1A next season. No more margin for error. Verdict: Home win.

Clontarf v UL Bohemians

Castle Avenue

The champions-elect are donning pink jerseys (in aid of Action Breast cancer) as they seek the single point needed to secure promotion while victory sets up a tilt at the 1A boys in the play-offs. Solid end to a fine season expected. Verdict: Home win.

UCC v Galwegians

The Mardyke

It is win or bust time for Galwegians but UCC don’t want to be drawn into trouble on the last weekend. UCC to all but send the westerners down to division two. Verdict: Home win.
