Sir, - Mr Mark Whyte is totally incorrect when he comments that Mr Dino Djalal envisages that "If East Timor rejects independence and opts for autonomy within Indonesia, it would have a status similar to that of Hong Kong in China," (July 1st), since Mr Djalal made no such comparison in the first place. This statement is simply Mr Conor O'Clery's personal interpretation from his interview with Mr Djalal.
Mr Whyte would do well to read your articles more carefully before jumping to conclusions. - Yours, etc.,
