The birds and the bees

Sir, – Can you imagine the father-and-son conversation of the future? Father: “Son, I’d like to talk to you about the birds and the bees.” Son: “What are bees, dad?” – Yours, etc,

ANTHONY FINNIN,

Limerick.

Sir, – Is it any wonder that the way of life of the bee and butterfly is envied by humans? Spending a sunny day rolling around flower heads, returning home, soaked in nectar, taking off your striped onesie and rinsing it into the honey jar. Or the butterfly, colour dancing, weaving around colour, wrapped in the light of summer’s optimism, laughing at the idea of a pension. – Yours, etc,

EUGENE TANNAM,

Firhouse,

Dublin 24.
