SELECTIVE CAR CLAMPING

Sir, - Every day close to my workplace in Dublin 4, I see several cars clamped on the banks of the Grand Canal and in adjoining small roadways.

However, at Baggot Street Upper, close to the bridge, there are frequently a number of cars parked on double yellow lines, at the bus stop and in the two parking spaces clearly marked "ambulance" outside Baggot Street Hospital.

It looks as if the clampers are finding easy targets on the canal banks and ignoring other illegally parked vehicles which can cause severe traffic delays and create difficulty for staff and patients at the hospital. - Yours, etc.,
