Madam, - Although describing pornography involving children as "child porn" is technically correct according to the definition of pornography - ie, printed or visual material intended to stimulate sexual excitement - I firmly believe that by using this term the news media lessen the actual seriousness of the crime.
"Photographs of child sexual abuse" may not roll off the presses or the tongue quite as easily, but such a phrase is a truer description of the horror involved in this abhorrent trade. - Yours, etc,
