Sir, - A sector that deserves special treatment in the December budget are the PAYE pensioners. This Government would do well to respect the quiet power of pensioners. There are approximately 67,000 of them - one of the biggest voting blocs in the country.
Mr McCreevy can now well afford to increase the £3,000 tax exemption limit. It would be a small gesture to those who have helped create the Celtic Tiger but have, so far, not benefitted from it. - Yours, etc., Olive Larkin,
