Sir, – This week, the rest of the country was focused on the escalating war in Ukraine, a cost of living crisis, soaring rents and house prices, and the rising tide of violence against women. And yet the Labour Party chose to devote its Dáil time this week to introducing a Bill which would ban parents from choosing to send their children to single-sex schools (News, March 7th).
Meanwhile, the party has commenced a navel-gazing exercise, wondering why it is stuck on 3 per cent in the polls.
