A Chara, - Sinn Féin has confirmed that two of its members were among those arrested following an alleged incident in a pub in Manorhamilton, Co Leitrim. It is claimed that people told to leave town as a result of supposed drug-related activities.
But a spokesperson for Sinn Féin apparently can't understand what the fuss is all about. If members of another party were involved, he says, the incident would not have received the same attention. It was only a "relatively small thing that happened where verbals were exchanged in a pub".
Every dog on the street knows that many of Sinn Féin's representatives have been elected on the back of promises to "sort out" what they describe as "anti-social behaviour". Therefore the "verbals" of Sinn Féin members are a little different to those of members of other parties. Anyone who pretends they are harmless need only check with the McCartney family.
It is time to reject the fascist thugs who are attempting to take over our democracy. - Yours, etc.,
Cllr SEÁN Ó HARGÁIN, (Labour Party), College Square, Kilkenny.
