Healthcare and privilege

Sir, – J O'Sullivan's letter of April 1st misses the point of my comment on the Beacon Covid vaccine affair (Letters, March 31st).

It refers to the fact that I am a former leader of Fine Gael. So what? That was over 30 years ago – definitively pre-Covid. The remark about privilege might be interesting, but again: so what? I have had my first dose of BioNtech vaccine simply because of age.
