Madam, – In December many primary and second-level schools lost a number of days because of the inclement weather. There was some fleeting discussion about how difficult it would be for the schools to make up for these lost classroom hours. In planning for the forthcoming general election, I assume that the Minister for the Environment will ensure that election day is a Saturday or Sunday, in order to avoid putting additional pressure on schools and their pupils. – Yours, etc,
