Madam, – Well done to Eamon Dunphy for taking that 10 per cent cut in his surprising €320,000 annual salary. He set a good example for his colleagues in RTÉ.
But when we consider that 10 per cent of Mr Dunphy’s salary amounts to €32,000, which could be the basic rate for a nurse or teacher, it shows there is something wrong with Ireland’s priorities. If we review the value we place on these “stars”, maybe something positive will come out of this recession. – Yours, etc,
