Sir, - Derek Mitchell, Chairman of Greystones Town Commissioners (January 6th), takes me to task for accusing the council of "resisting residential development with passion".
After the decision to extend DART to Greystones, the council approved development at a density of one dwelling per acre, which is what provoked the controversy with the Department of the Environment.
If councils zone, in the vicinity of expensive railway lines, at one to the acre, there is no prospect of addressing seriously either the transport or housing crises. - Yours, etc.,
