Madam, - Pity poor Paul Doran (January 2nd), who got only four Christmas cards from his local politicians. I got six, so I did - one from a Fine Gael MEP, one from the Lord Mayor (Independent), one from a Fianna Fáil TD, one from a Labour TD, and two from the same Fine Gael councillor.
Presumably politicians think that this exercise helps to garner votes but my instinctive reaction is not to vote for any politician who indulges in such a waste of taxpayers' money. - Yours, etc,
