Sir, - Is there some point which I am missing? If the Northern unionists spurn an institution set up by the parliament of the UK, surely the people of the UK have some view on that? And, if they so vehemently protest their wish to remain united with the UK, then - in the light of their scornful rejection of the Northern Assembly - surely the people of the UK are entitled to say whether they want to continue to be united with them?
I believe the answers to those questions would very quickly show how unwanted in the UK is this small, fractious minority. And how glad the decent people of the UK would be to see the back of that sectarian - and, for them, highly costly - statelet. - Yours, etc.,
