Sir, - In reply to Wynzen de Vries's letter (November 21st), in which he comments that in a Dublin parish they are not allowed to sing in four-part harmony, and that in another parish Latin is not allowed in our parish church, we have a sung Mass (every Sunday) with anthems and motets sung in

Irish, English and also in Latin, by composers such as Allegri, Palestrina, Stanford, McNulty etc.

Could I ask the question: how do we get away with it, in the far end of the West of Ireland, as the Pope gets away with it in Rome? - Yours, etc.,
