Sir, - One Saturday morning 25 years ago, during a working holiday on an organic farm in Tipperary, I heard the fateful news about the premature passing away of Elvis. After the day's work, a friend and I decided to mark the occasion by playing some appropriate music.

We rummaged through a large collection of singles and LPs stacked untidily on the parlour floor beside a gramophone. Alas we couldn't find the likes of Jailhouse Rock, Wooden Heart or Hound Dog. Finally, we selected a slightly worn LP and played three movements of a classic hit called Brandenburg Concerto No.1
