Madam, - Our gallant All-Australians have gone down fighting (literally) in the International Rules football "Tests" against Ireland. The hybrid concept is a world-first Australian sporting initiative. I'm proud, damn proud. Now I propose we launch a hybrid International Rules "Test" series featuring the Australian cricket team and the Boston Red Sox.
Under my hybrid proposal, there would be three balls to an over. The batter would have a choice of baseball bat or cricket bat. A giant flashing neon wicket would be positioned behind the wicket-keeper/catcher. The slightly larger baseball would be used, since Australians have shown they adapt so well to balls in Test matches. - Yours, etc.,
