Sir,- I’ve just read Dave Hannigan’s excellent (as always) America at Large column from May 21st.

I see that a train ticket from Penn Station, New York, to Giants Stadium, which normally costs $12.90, will cost $98 for forthcoming World Cup games. And then there are match ticket prices.

It makes me fully appreciate the wonderful sporting occasion in Parnell Park on Sunday for the Dublin v Kilkenny hurling game. Match ticket price €15. – Yours, etc,
