Sir, – I would like to propose an open-air bus tour organised by the Government or the Olympic Federation of Ireland to publicly honour and celebrate our athletes’ hard work and dedication.
I believe this tour would not only be a great way for the community to show their support and appreciation for our Olympians, but it would also be an inspiration for all the young people who would be watching on and dreaming of their big day on the world stage.
We need more facilities in all areas which will not only benefit the top-class athletes but also the young people who have nothing to do in their time off. It would certainly help to clean up neighbourhoods.
I urge the authorities to consider this suggestion and make it a reality, as I believe it would be a fitting tribute to our incredible athletes and a memorable experience for all involved. – Yours, etc,

Sir, – I’m finding it almost impossible to watch the Olympics on RTÉ rather than on the BBC.
It would be wonderful if the ¤725 million Government subvention meant we didn’t have to be tortured with ad breaks berating us over and over again with the same ads from the same handful of advertisers. It’s unwatchable. – Yours, etc,

Sir, – What a joy to see Irish athletes perform so well in the Paris Olympic Games: win or lose. dignified and humble, they have waved the national flag with honour and respect, in sharp contrast to those who dishonour it with sinister intent. – Yours, etc,
