Sir, – I read your article on the latest report from the Commission for the Regulation of Utilities (CRU) with interest (“Watchdog says energy price cuts on way but warns cost will not fall to 2021 levels”, News, May 14th). In an otherwise very useful report, the line that caught my attention was “the CRU does not regulate the unit rates offered by suppliers”.
Does this qualify it as a toothless wonder? – Yours, etc,
