A chara, – Reading the article about camogie players having to wear skorts rather than shorts (Sport, October 25th) reminded me of my mother telling me about matches she played in Croke Park in the 1930s.
Before each match, players had to kneel on the pitch to have their skirts measured from hem to ground to ensure the skirts were no shorter than two inches above the knee. – Yours, etc,
